Lady Fortunes Inc. began with a big dream and a batch of cookies in 2002, when Daria Artem, a recent college graduate with a passion for PR and baking, started using her homemade Giant Chocolate Dipped Fortune Cookies to promote her fledgling PR company. The response was nothing short of GIGANTIC—clients and prospects began ordering her cookies in droves, and Daria realized she had stumbled onto something truly special. With that, Lady Fortunes was born! After nearly a year of baking late into the night from her home kitchen, Daria and her fiancé Yasser made a bold move, investing their wedding fund to open the first Lady Fortunes Cookie Factory on February 13, 2004, in Northridge, CA.

Daria threw herself into baking, dipping, decorating, packing, and shipping her creations, while also partnering with a company to launch www.LadyFortunes.com. Her hard work paid off at her first Fancy Food Show in New York in July 2004, where she secured major clients like Costco.com and SamsClub.com, agreeing to carry her cookies on their e-commerce platforms and dropship to cookie lovers nationwide. Committed to quality, Daria and Yasser (her official taste tester!) built the business on a promise: to use the finest gourmet ingredients, offer same-day shipping for orders placed by noon PST, and craft every product to order for maximum freshness.

As Lady Fortunes grew, so did our offerings. Our award-winning Giant Gourmet Fortune Cookies earned back-to-back features on Food Network specials like Unwrapped and Best of Sweets. We then pioneered Edible Prints, using fondant appliques and chocolate-icing covered treats to elevate personalization. Today, we create a wide range of unique cookies, candies, and confections inspired by customer requests and global desserts—from Italian Biscotti to Mexican Wedding Cookies.

We proudly produce private label products for top retailers and e-tailers, including Williams Sonoma, Sur La Table, Macy’s, Bloomingdales, Neiman Marcus, QVC, 1-800Flowers, and Harry and David, among others.

In 2014, QVC spotted Daria at the International Fancy Food Show in NYC, inviting her to sell on their platform. Her cookies sold out in minutes, leading to multiple appearances on the network until 2020, when the pandemic paused travel.

In 2018, we expanded internationally, opening Lady Fortunes Dubai in the United Arab Emirates—a massive success that landed us accounts with Warner Bros World in Abu Dhabi, Emirates Palace, and the Jumeirah Hotel chain.

We also earned the prestigious Disney FAMA certification, enabling us to craft enchanting Disney cookies and treats, including exclusive creations for Club 33 in Disneyland, where our products are featured for special events. Additionally, we have been honored as featured vendors at Disney Festivals since 2022, delighting park visitors with our offerings during festivals and events.
